Congratulations are in order for Nicolas Trueba, a fourth-year PhD student, and Gillen Brown, a fifth-year PhD student who were recently awarded Rackham Predoctoral Fellowships. This fellowship supports outstanding doctoral students who have achieved candidacy and are actively working on their dissertation. Additionally, students are selected for work that is especially unique, creative, ambitious, and impactful.
Additionally, the department would like to congratulated Molly Meng, a fourth-year PhD student, who was recently the recipient of the Barbour Centennial Award, one of the University's oldest and most prestigious scholarships meant to recognize and support outstanding female graduate students from Asia and the Middle East.
Moreover, the department would like to recognize Lena Komorova, a second-year PhD student, who was awarded a Rackham International Student Fellowship, a fellowship designed to assist outstanding international students who have demonstrated outstanding academic and professional promise, but may not be elegible for other kids of support due to citizenship.
A huge congratulations to Nicolas, Gillen, Molly, and Lena!
