Congratulations are due to two of our Astronomy majors, Nabeel Rehemtulla and Michael Messere, who were recently named undergraduate medalists of the AAS 237 Chambliss Student Poster Awards! The 237th American Astronomical Society (AAS) meeting was held virtually in January 2021, and the Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Awards competicion included 170 undergraduate entries of digitally-interactive posters. Nabeel and Michael were chosen as two of fifteen medalists.

Nabeel's winning poster was titled "Non-Parametric Spherical Jeans Mass Estimation with B-Splines" while Michael's winning poster was titled "Galactic Leftovers Within the M81 Group: Understanding the Past Interactions using the Resolved Helium Burning Stellar Population."
