Raymond Hsu

Trained in cultural anthropology, Raymond's fieldwork in Taiwan cuts across different forms of popular tradition - performance, ritual, literature and oral history - in Chinese religious festivals. With the interdisciplinary spirit and resource Michigan offers, Raymond hopes to broaden his theoretical scope and deepen his understanding of the proposed topic in a way that could reflect upon the current disciplinary boundaries in area studies.
