Engagement in heritage activities increases community well-being at local, national, and global scales. With this in mind, archaeologists and other heritage practitioners (working domestically and internationally) are increasingly collaborating with local colleagues and descendant communities (locally and in diaspora) on innovative heritage initiatives that recognize and honor our pasts and differences. One goal of this work is to share the knowledge and benefits from archaeological work and research on heritage beyond the academy. Working collaboratively also improves the results of archaeological research and the sustainability of heritage protection.

The Center for Community Archaeology and Heritage was established to support and develop collaborative, community-centric practices in archaeological and heritage research. Please join us! To be added to our email list, please fill out this Google form.
