General Information

Established in 1989, Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies (A/PIA) is one of three ethnic studies curricula housed within the Department of American Culture. We offer interdisciplinary undergraduate courses focusing on the A/PIA experience. Our studies serve as a focal point for University research and teaching on Asian/Pacific Islander Americans, and our faculty provide resources for understanding A/PIA concerns and issues. We collaborate with United Asian American Organizations (now numbering over 30 student groups) and the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs on programming and outreach endeavors.
