On October 28, 2021, Professor Emily Lawsin spoke at a virtual event commemorating Filipino American History Month, organized by the White House Office of Public Engagement and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. As the National President of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS), Prof. Lawsin spoke about the long history of FANHS, from its founding in 1992 to its efforts to mark October as Filipino American History Month.
