Elizabeth Roberts has just received the 2021 Individual Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education, bestowed by the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.

This is an honor Liz greatly deserves. Tim McKay, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, tells us why in his description of Liz's "thoughtful teaching and mentorship of students":

"You develop strongly collaborative learning environments while helping students to think in truly multidisciplinary and innovative ways. By moving beyond a harsh dividing line between nature and culture, you give students from a very wide range of backgrounds and academic disciplines a new set of lenses through which to view their worlds. A former student commented, “Liz stands out as an excellent mentor who models creativity, humility, and refreshing honesty,” an “intellectually curious” instructor who creates room for creativity and growth in her students and shows them respect."  Another former student characterized you as “brilliant, engaging, creative, and kind.” Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition for your work!
