Alyssa Paredes has recently published an essay, "Vaccine Refusal and the Legacies of Corporate Science in the Philippines," in Visualizing the Virus, an international digital project on the COVID-19 pandemic. The essay was prompted by her experience discovering a friend from fieldwork, a medical toxicologist and award-winning social activist, lambasted on national social media as an "anti-vaxxer."
