Congratulations to Anthroplogy alumna, Rebecca Carter, on receiving the Edie Turner First Book Prize. Carter received this prize for her book "Prayers for the People: Homicide and Humanity in the Crescent City" published in 2019.
Books were judged on their quality of writing, depth of engagement with the material, and contribution to the field of humanistic anthropology and ethnographic genres.
