Blumenfeld Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the Blumenfeld Scholarship.

This scholarship is made possible through a generous donation by Bachelor in General Studies (B.G.S.) alumnus David Blumenfeld. This scholarship recognizes outstanding students who use the flexibility of the B.G.S. degree structure to craft especially thoughtful and coherent interdisciplinary courses of study

  1. Be officially declared as seeking a Bachelor in General Studies.
  2. Be in good academic standing.
  3. Must be a sophomore or junior and have at least one fall or winter semester of in-residence enrollment remaining before graduation (not including the current semester in which they apply).
  4. Upload a PDF version of your current resume (save as "your uniqname_Resume")

Blumenfeld applicants will be prompted to upload a PDF version of their current resume and submit a 500 word Statement of Purpose that includes the following topics:

  • The theme(s) of the student’s B.G.S. Curriculum
  • A multidisciplinary approach to these issues or topics
  • Connections between your coursework and co-curricular activities, and post-graduation plans
