Wednesday, March 22, 2023

2nd Floor, Michigan Union

11:00am - 3:00 pm

The Major/Minor Expo, held every March, is a great way to learn about academic opportunities at U-M! During this event, you can talk with advisors, faculty, and students in the 70+ majors and 100+ minors LSA has to offer, as well as many non-LSA academic programs. You can also gather information about opportunities for research on campus, internships, study abroad, professional development, and experiential learning.

What to Expect at the Expo

  • All of the LSA departments (and many non-LSA programs) in one place at one time
  • Friendly conversations with knowledgable people
  • Advisors who can help students find the right questions to ask
  • A chance to explore your interests and find your passion

Each year, neary a thousand students, from first-years to graduating seniors, attend the Major/Minor Expo. We look forward to seeing you there!

What to Expect/What to Bring

  • This event is similar to Festifall: students will be walking past your table, so we suggest you bring materials/supplies/props to give visual appeal.
  • Our office will provide a large overhead sign with your program/department name.
  • Consider bringing handouts/brochures with your program's information, especially if you want to refer to the material when talking to students. For an environmentally friendly option, consider getting a QR code that directs students to your information online or in a Google shared drive folder. You can have the QR code on a sign on your table, or on small quarter sheets of paper.
  • Everyone loves free stuff, so consider bringing swag, candy, or other giveaway items.
  • Consider bringing students who are currently in or have participated in your programs.
  • You will not have access to electrical power at your table.

Have more questions?
