Mission

LSA Student Academic Affairs engages students, fosters their success, and upholds academic standards in support of the liberal arts and the University of Michigan community.

Guiding Principles

Create an atmosphere of open and supportive relationships

We see people as whole, complex, and worthy of understanding. We value interaction with others and work to develop and sustain collegial relationships within and beyond SAA.

Show appreciation and consideration for others

We strive to cultivate a culture of respect in which we promote active listening, purposeful interaction, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives.

Champion inclusivity and build trust through communication

We strive to understand one another and work to foster transparent and constructive conversations, regardless of position or authority.

Foster accountability and integrity

We will take ownership of our decisions in a compassionate, authentic and principled manner.

Support and encourage reflection

We are committed to learning, growing, and adapting to best serve the ever evolving university community.

Seek opportunities for joy and play

We embrace the moments we have to connect with one another and have fun.
