What was your path to Student Academic Affairs? I've always been committed to working on behalf of students and their educational pursuits. Most recently, after working with Detroit Public School students at WSU's Math Corps, I became interested in transitioning into a more strategic role within an organization. Once the Operations Lead position became available, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to connect with my passion for supporting students while nurturing my desire to analyze the processes and procedures that affect them, as well.
What do you enjoy about working in Student Academic Affairs? I love working with people who value the importance of being a team. The care and compassion that our staff have for students--and for each other--is inspiring.
Subject you love and why? English. I love being able to think critically about books and films to try to make sense of recurring themes or motifs. I can often be found scouring the internet for compelling, well-written think pieces.
Interests and hobbies: My favorite hobbies are journal-writing, dance, and trying out new recipes from Pinterest. I also love fruit smoothies!
