Silvia Pedraza, Professor of Sociology, American Culture, and Latina/o Studies, recently received the Founder's Award by the American Sociological Association's (ASA) Section on Latinas/os in the U.S. The Founder's Award recognizes both pioneers in the field and those who worked to enlarge the spaces of Latinas/os within the ASA. Prof. Pedraza's career well deserves this honor as she has been a dedicated researcher and fierce advocate for Latinx people on our campus and beyond. Previously, the ASA Section on Latinas/os in the U.S. also honored Dr. Pedraza with the Julian Samora Distinguished Career Award in Sociology.
Muchas felicitaciones, Silvia!
