Melissa Borja, assistant professor of Asian/Pacific Islander American studies, was one of six faculty members to receive new grant funding awarded by the Center for Social Solutions and Poverty Solutions at U-M. Her project is on “Virulent Hate: Anti-Asian Racism and Resistance During the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Melissa will be documenting and analyzing incidents and creating a public-facing interactive map to help community organizations with anti-racism advocacy.
