Doctoral Student, Garrett Felber, is the author of What Black Lives Matter Means Beyond Policing Reform published in U.S. News, July 12, 2016, and Black Nationalism and Liberation published in the Boston Review, August 30, 2016. In October Mr. Felber will be leading a four-month racial justice community reading group with half inside students and half community members at the Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland, Oregon, where a number of issues will be discussed, including mass incarceration, police brutality, the role of black leadership, and social justice activism in our current moment.
