Doua Thor has been named the new Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. When she was a MSW student at University of Michigan, Doua was part of an active network of grad students connected to A/PIA Studies. Raised in a family that was part of the first group of Hmong Refugees resettled to Detroit in the late 1970s, Doua was instrumental in guiding the formation of the Detroit Asian Youth Project, which has historically focused on leadership development of low-income Hmong American youth.
