Semiconductor Research Fellowship Program
Semiconductor Research Corporation in Electrical and Computer Engineering
SRC Undergraduate Research Opportunities (URO) is an innovative program co-sponsored by SRC’s Education Alliance and the Intel Foundation that provides undergraduates a $4000 stipend for a 10 week fellowship to work under the supervision of University of Michigan faculty member in science and technology fields related to the semi-conductor computer industry including electrical, chemical, and materials science engineering and physics and chemistry. Participating undergraduates not only gain confidence in their ability to perform valuable hands-on research and mentoring, but they also come to appreciate the doors that are opened to those with an advanced degree.
The objectives of the SRC URO program are to increase academic retention among undergraduates who express interest in physical science and engineering disciplines, and encourage them to continue their education beyond their four-year degree. The SRC URO program seeks to attract a [broadly] diverse student population, which would include women and historically underrepresented students as well as first generation college students and students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. The program also offers workshops and resources to assist students with the graduate school application process.
