Link Olson

Dr. Link Olson from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks recently visited the UMMZ Mammal Division to examine specimens from Alaska housed in the collection.  A UMMZ alum, Dr. Olson worked with curator emeritus, Dr. Phil Myers, during his undergraduate degree.  This experience ultimately led to Dr. Olson into academia, studying the systematics and biogeography of mammals.  Dr. Olson is now an Associate Professor and Curator of Mammals at the University of Alaska's Museum of the North.  During his visit, he examined several species, including this skull of a young Alaskan hare (Lepus othus).
