Student Project Search Begins September 10
Students will have access to the UROP 09-10 projects listing beginning Thursday, September 10. You will begin receiving email inquiries from students requesting interviews for the projects. You should schedule interviews as soon as possible. Contact the UROP Office at 615-9000 with your questions and concerns about hiring a student.
UROP Student Contracts: Once you have made your hiring decision, the UROP student will bring you a Fall 2009 Contract to complete. The Contract will need to be submitted by October 2. Many students will continue to be hired into projects after this date, and contracts will be accepted after that date. Our goal is to place the majority of students as quickly as possible with interviews and hiring taking place in September.
Project Proposals and Project Renewals for 09-10
Research Sponsor applications are still being accepted through mid September. You can submit a new project request or renew a previous project. Click here to access the research project application.
UROP Student research skill building workshops: We will offer an extensive workshop schedule during Fall 2009. Students will be taking a skills assessment survey to determine what skill set they need to be successful on their project. The students will be asked to share the survey results with you and to talk to sponsors about the workshops they need to attend. The survey will be administered in late September.
UROP Summer Fellowships: UROP 2009 summer fellowship programs have now concluded. Some 75 students participated in full time paid research placements. Watch for announcements about Fall symposia in which UROP summer fellows will present posters of their research findings.
