The Confucius Institute-UM is the latest of the 300-plus institutes worldwide which work to strengthen cooperation with China, study the languages, arts, and cultures of China, and increase intercultural understanding with the peoples of China. The Confucius Institute-UM is a collaborative effort between the Office of the Provost and its partners in China: Hanban (Chinese Language Council International) and Renmin University of China. www.confucius.umich.edu
