High Energy-Astrophysics
Water in the Desert: SDSS Supernova Survey Initial Cosmology Results and Future Plans

Date: 11/09/2009; 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: 335 West Hall
Host Department: PHYSICS

Speaker: David Cinabro (Wayne State University)

Detailed Information

Professor Cinabro will describe the initial cosmology results from the SDSS Supernova Survey based on the first year of the three year data set. Besides a Hubble diagram analysis for cosmological parameters, his team has also considered non-standard cosmologies and compared with other intermediate redshift datasets that are sensitive to cosmology. Professor Cinabro will discuss his team's plans for future analysis of the full dataset.
