Prerequisites:
Calculus II (MATH 116 or MATH 121 or MATH 156 or MATH 176 or MATH 186). The prerequisite for the minor may be taken as P/F.
Requirements:
Core Courses:
- Introductory Statistics (DATASCI 101 or STATS 206 or STATS 250 or STATS 280 or STATS 412).
- Statistical Computing (STATS 306 or STATS 406). (Request permission into STATS 306 without enforced prerequisites and/or without meeting reserves.)
- Linear Regression (STATS 401 or STATS 413).
Elective Statistics Courses:
At least two advanced electives. Approved electives include STATS 315, 406, 415, 425, 426, 430, 449, 451, 470, 480.
- One elective may be a quantitative methods course with advanced statistical content offered by another department, either from a Pre-Approved List or with approval from a Statistics Department undergraduate advisor.
- The following courses may not be used as electives for the Statistics Minor: STATS 404, 489 and 499.
- STATS 412 may be used as a core course, but not as an elective.
- At least four of the five courses used to meet the minor requirements must be taken with the University of Michigan's Statistics Department.
