Sammy and Lauren will present on alternatives to regression discontinuity (RD). Sammy will present an overview of RD, its application in social and behavioral sciences, and the benefits of incorporating regression discontinuity into psychological and developmental science. Lauren will lead a discussion on the design specifics of RD that can pose problems and potential alternatives to the RD design when using large, nationally representative datasets. The goal of the talk will be to collectively discuss ways to utilize this quasi-experimental technique to understand psychological phenomena.
