The Gardens library and resource center is next to the main lobby of the Visitor Center. It holds titles about plants, landscapes, ecosystems, stewardship and other environmental issues. There are over 3,200 cataloged books among this library and the Benard L. Maas Foundation Reference Library at the Nichols Arboretum. Our electronic database is not part of the U-M Mirlyn system, and is now online for visitors to use - http://library.mbgna.umich.edu.
The library is open the same hours as the Conservatory, and since it is currently a non-circulating library, you are welcome to use the books here.
Come in and explore - we're also interested in titles you'd like to use.
Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum needs private support and provides donors with many giving opportunities and recognition. For more details, please contact the Development Office at 1-734-615-9475.
