In the late summer, prairie grasses and plants begin to peak. The prairie sites in the Arb and Gardens are great places for a peaceful stroll.

  • Shakespeare in the Arb - Welcome Week performance for students
    Calling all students! Each year during Welcome Week Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum and the U-M Residential College faculty, students, and community players sponsor a revival of our summer Shakespeare in the Arb play. This season's play is Much Ado about Nothing, directed by Kate Mendeloff.

    Two performances: Sun. & Mon., Sept. 1 & 2, 5:30 pm in Nichols Arboretum. Performances are free. Arrive early; tickets are limited. Box office located in the visitor center at the 1610 Wahington Hts. entrance to Nichols Arboretum.
