In spring, Matthaei and the Arb burst into life. Over 20,000 daffodils in a line emerge and bloom at the Arb The fragrance of lilacs is on the air. Woody plants show off their flowers and the peonies peak in June.

Connie Crancer
Collections and Natural Areas Specialist

Connie recently earned her Masters of Science in Terrestrial Ecology through the University of Michigan, School of Natural Resources and she holds a Bachelorís degree in Horticulture from Michigan State University. She began working at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in 1987. Connie is a Natural Areas team member and specializes in native plant species. She manages several of our native plant gardens and our native species propagation program.
