About Us

The Museum is located on the central campus of the University of Michigan. It occupies two connected buildings, Newberry Hall, a 19th century stone building on State Street across from Angell Hall, and the state-of-the-art William Upjohn Exhibit Wing, opened in 2009. We encourage visitors to tour our galleries, which are open to the public free of charge every day but Monday; to learn about our collections and our history by exploring this website; and to take advantage of the many activities listed on the Events page.

The Kelsey Museum's meeting rooms and facilities are available for rental for UM departments and units. Scheduling is subject to availability. For more information please contact Dawn Johnson at 734.764.9295 or
