On March 13, 2015, the University of Michigan German Department is sponsoring its 31st annual “German Day” for high school students studying German throughout the state of Michigan.  This year's theme is Deutsche Innovation: Erfinder, Entdecker und Künster.

Students participate in a variety of competitions - poetry recitation, interactive speaking, skits, extemporaneous reading, musical presentations, art exhibits, producing videos and constructing web sites - based on the theme..  Of course, everything is in German.

Last year, for example, we had approximately 1,000 students in attendance.
