EIHS Announces 17 Fellows for 2012-13; Record Number of Applicants
The Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies is proud to announce its fellows for the 2012-13 academic year. The Institute received a record number of applications, and the selection process was excruciating. All applications – totaling hundreds of pages – were reviewed, ranked, and discussed by the Institute’s Steering Committee over the course of two lengthy meetings. These fellows will receive more than $130,000 of direct support from the Institute and the Department of History.
Postdoctoral Fellows: Each half-time Postdoctoral Fellowship consists of a $19,000 salary, full benefits, and a $2,000 research fund. Each Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to teach at least one lecture course.
Eisenberg Graduate Research Fellows: Each Eisenberg Graduate Student Fellow receives a $5,000 research stipend.
Faculty Fellows: Each Faculty Fellowship award includes release from teaching one course and a $2,500 research grant.
Residency Research Grant Fellows: These fellowships include research stipends of $10,000 (full) or $5,000 (half), along with library privileges, office space, computer access, and other benefits.

In addition, Institute has selected Joseph Ho as the 2012-13 graduate student liaison. Joseph will help coordinate the Institute’s graduate student outreach, with emphasis on the Institute's Friday graduate student activities (breakfasts and workshops). He will receive a research stipend in return for his service.
The Institute expects to issue a call for 2013-14 fellowships in January 2013.
