EEB retreat

1. Field trips led by EEB faculty including (but not limited to):
Aquatics and invertebrates
Forest dynamics, succession, and chaos
Glacial and geological features
Birds
Plants – Cassandra Bog
Plants – Buck Hollow
Fungi
ESGR facilities, history, and site projects

2. Time to socialize with your colleagues in a beautiful setting with ample food and drink

3. Late afternoon/early evening activities include:
Book Discussion – The New Jim Crow, discussion facilitated by the Diversity Committee
Graduate student panel – strategies for coping in graduate school
Lawn games: frisbee, hackysack
Mammals of the ESGR video loop
Emoji your research – and other fun activities

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. Breakfast and lunch are free of charge. If you are planning on staying for dinner, the cost is $10 for faculty and $5 for students and staff. Partners, significant others, and children are all welcome. The cost for significant others and guests is the same as the sponsor's cost. Dinner is free for incoming students and children! Please pay Cindy Carl in the graduate office.

Vans will be available for transportation to the event and a sign-up sheet for rides can be found here. Please indicate if you are willing to drive. Vans will leave Ann Arbor at 8:15 am and return after dinner. Carpooling is encouraged if you want to drive.

Be sure to bring clothes for outdoor hiking, bug spray, extra shoes / boots and socks, games, a refillable water bottle, and camera.
