In March 2002, David Nyren, along with two other principals from William Blair & Company (Chicago), founded an independent marketing firm, AMD Capital. AMD works with investment firms from around the world who manage money in a variety of investment disciplines, including traditional asset classes (long-only stock and bond managers), hedge funds, and private equity. The focus of the asset gathering efforts is to investment consultants, large plan sponsors (i.e., endowments, foundations, and corporate pension plans), large family offices and other investment intermediaries. In addition, AMD assists their investment firms in educating the investing clients on current portfolio positioning, as well as informing these clients of market conditions and the effect these conditions have on their portfolio.

In 1995, David began his investment career with William Blair & Company and a year later became the lead marketing professional for William Blair’s investment management department. In 1999, he became a principal in the firm. David has been a Director for the Western Golf Association (Evans Scholars) for years and chaired the Western Amateur Golf event in 2018. David is a board member of C 24/7, a Chicago based non-for-profit benefiting the underprivileged in the Rogers Park neighborhood.  David received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, majoring in finance and marketing. He and his wife, Carolyn, have three children and live in Northbrook, IL.
