Renowned South African playwright Athol Fugard (Guest Speaker in the UM Visiting Writer Series) featured in a roundtable discussion about his one-act play, _The Island_, which examines justice, state and individual issues. Roundtable discussants included Vassilis Lambropoulos (Classics and Comparative Literature) and Lemuel Johnson (English and CAAS).

Co-sponsored by the Program in Comparative Literature, the Chair of Modern Greek Studies, the Department of Classical Studies, the History Department, the English Department, and the School of Education.
