Commanding a Room

Work with UM educational theatre company director Callie McKee to develop and practice skills for effective and dynamic public speaking, large group facilitation and project presentations.  This interactive workshop will address overcoming nerves, crafting audience appropriate messaging and body language. Participants will leave with tools and exercises to use when preparing to speak in front of any large group.  This workshop is designed for everyone, introverts included, who would like to speak about their work in engineering, science and mathematics with confidence!  

Engineering Alumnae Panel

Accomplished Michigan Alumnae from diverse engineering fields will share information about their work environments, challenges they faced or avoided when transitioning from UM to the workplace. Panelists will offer advice and strategies including adjusting to life as a professional, creating a personal brand and cultivating  a support network
