The UM WISE Girls Code Camp is a summer day camp for students finishing grades 8 through 12.
Sponsored by The University of Michigan's Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program.
Session 1: Monday - Friday, July 10-14, 2017

Fee: $450 per session
The Girls Code camp introduces students to programming and programming concepts in a fun and supportive environment. The number of campers is limited to 30.
The camp is planned and taught by University of Michigan staff and students. In addition to hands-on coding activities, campers will participate in fun group competitions, will take field trips to UM labs and area businesses (past tours include Google, SPARK and UM robotics labs) and will work with positive female role models. Our campers are chaperoned by WISE camp staff at all times.
Girls Code camp is sponsored by the University of Michigan’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program.
Can My Younger Child Apply?
Not at this time. If we have space, we will consider younger students finishing grades 6 and 7. Please check this page the last week in March, or email email@example.com at that time.
How Much Does it Cost?
UM WISE Girls Code Camp costs $450 for a five-day session.
This tuition includes five full-days of program activities from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Lunch is not provided. Students should bring a bag lunch every day. All instructional costs, supplies, and equipment are included.Need based scholarships are available. Need-based scholarships are available.
When and Where is It?
UM WISE Girls Code Camp will be held on the University of Michigan central campus in Ann Arbor.
Two sessions will be offered July 2017 (see above).
Who is Eligible to Apply?
You are eligible to apply for UM WISE Girls Code Camp for Girls if:
- You will complete grade 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 in June, 2017
- You have an interest in cmputer science, mathematics, technology, coding or engineering
- Your teacher submits a recommendation form no later than April 7, 2017
- You submit a complete application no later than April 7, 2017No previous experience in computers, physics, engineering, chemistry or human genetics is necessary.

How Do I Apply?
• Submit your completed application by April 7, 2017
• Ask a math or science teacher to serve as a positive recommender and provide them with the link to the recoemmendation form, or to this web page and ensure they have submitted the form by April 7, 2017.
How do I Know if My Teacher Submitted A Recommendation and/or if My Application is Complete?
Check your status using the link at the top of this page.
How Will I Be Notified of Acceptance?
Applications will be reviewed by the middle of April. All applicants will receive a letter by May 6 to let them know if they have been accepted.
When Do I Pay?
Please do not send money with your application. Accepted students will be asked to send a non-refundable, space-reserving deposit of $225.00 by May 12 with a balance of $225 due by June 9. if you receive a scholarship, the deposi and balance amounts will be adjusted.

Yes! Need Based Scholarships Available.
