Can you double-major with cognitive science?

Yes, students are able to double-count up to three-courses towards both undergraduate
majors. Pre-requisites for courses do not count towards the double-counted courses.

Can you pick more than one track?

No, when students declare cognitive science as their major, they select one of the four
track offerings.

Can you graduate with a BS in cognitive science?

Yes, if students complete 60 or more natural science credit hours they can graduate
with a BS in cognitive science. 59 or fewer natural science credit hours designates a BA
degree

I am interested in funding opportunities - where should I go to request funds?

Funding opportunities for undergraduate cognitive science majors are available. Please see the Funding Opportunities link for additional information. 

When can I declare the cognitive science major?

All prospective majors need to complete COGSCI 200 with a C or better before officially
declaring the cognitive science major

I found a course that I think can be a good fit for my major track of study. How do I petition to allow it to count towards my major?

Please fill out the Cognitive Science Class Petitioning Form linked here or by going to the Curriculum page. WICS Undergraduate Committee members will evaluate each request. IMPORTANT - submit a syllabus for the class you are petitioning. If a syllabus is unavailable for the course, the class cannot be evaluated. 

Can I minor in cognitive science?

No. At this time, the Weinberg Institute for Cognitive Science does not have a minor for undergraduate students.

Can I complete an honors thesis for the cognitive science major?

Yes - please see the Honors Thesis link for additional information and the application for completion of an honors thesis.
