This past weekend, UROP Peer Advisor and Women's Studies senior, McKenzie Campbell, presented at the Midwest Conference on Gender Studies at Norte Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. She presented a piece of her Honors Thesis research project, currently titled "50 Shades of Agency: The Impact of Fifty Shades of Grey on American Sexual Agency". Her paper was a part of the Gender and Empowerment panel, which closed out the two-day conference.

McKenzie said that it was an awesome experience to get to engage with Notre Dame and St. Mary's faculty and fellow undergrads about her field of study. "It's always empowering to get feminist scholars together for community building and the creation of new scholarship."

McKenzie is a Changing Gears Peer Advisor for the social sciences and humanities students, and is looking forward to attending graduate school in Women's Studies this coming fall.
