The U-M Museum of Natural History (UMMNH) wants to know what you would like to learn, see and do in the new museum's exhibits on Global Change this Friday through Tuesday, Sept. 18-22.
Each month, Museum exhibit designers present an Exhibit Workshop to test out ideas for the new UMMNH in the Biological Science Building, now under construction just north of Ruthven Museums Building.
The informal, interactive, pop-up style workshop, located on the 4th floor of the current museum, reveals preliminary exhibit plans and encourages visitors to share their ideas.
This month's topic is Global Change. While this gallery is itself designed to change over time, the initial exhibits will be about Climate Change, Health, and Biodiversity. Come tell us what interests you about these topics and what you think about our early plans. We'd like to hear your ideas about future topics as well!
The Exhibit Workshop will be open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Friday, September 18 through Tuesday, September 22 (Sunday Noon-5:00 PM).
Future workshops are scheduled for:
Each workshop will explore a different exhibit topic, to be determined and posted on the Museum's website shortly before the scheduled workshop dates. Previous topics include The Tree of Life (May), Geologic Time (June), the Giant Walk-Through Cell(July), and Michigan Wildlife Dioramas (August).
