Earliest Ever Recorded ‘Ice Out’ Called on Douglas Lake in Northern Michigan
UMBS scientists said there’s only a slight trend toward earlier ice-out in the long-term — about one day per decade going back 93 years. But in the short-term, this year’s ice-out was 45 days earlier than it was just six years ago.
U-M Biological Station to Update, Revitalize Community Spaces
Several projects to improve the use of interior spaces at the research and teaching campus in northern Michigan will begin this spring and be completed by the fall.
