Any student who has maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.4 through their sophomore year may apply for admission to the honors program in Statistics by contacting an Honors Advisor. Students in the honors program must complete the regular major program in addition to the requirements listed below.
- MATH 451 (3 credits) must be selected as one of the elective courses.
- A Statistics major GPA of at least 3.5.
- Elect the Senior Honors Seminar, STATS 499 (2–3 credits), and complete a senior project under the direction of a member of the faculty. This requirement must be arranged with a Department of Statistics Undergraduate Honors Advisor.
A student who successfully completes the concentration program should be well prepared for graduate work in statistics.
