The Golden Key International Honour Society has awarded Professor Silvia Pedraza with their Faculty Honorary Member Award.

Founded in 1977, the Golden Key Honour society is international, spanning not only the United States but also Western Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Bahamas, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

It consists of the top 15% of students in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year. Eligibilty cut off is a GPA of 3.6 and the society has 2.2 million members at present. It is a student-run organization that stresses academics, leadership, and service. 

Student members nominate faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education.
