M-Sociology Professor Jeffrey Morenoff has been included on a list of the world's most-cited researchers. This list ranks an individual's impact based on a survey of Highly Cited Papers (defined as being in the top 1 percent by citations in the Web of Science database) between 2002-2012). 

Morenoff's research focuses on neighborhood environments, crime and criminal justice, the social determinants of health, and racial/ethnic/immigrant inequality. 

The University of Michigan ranked as the No. 11 institution in the world.
