The Rackham Graduate School has announced awards for the best dissertations defended across all the University's disciplines in 2012.  The highest award given to UM graduate students, less than ten dissertations are recognized with the Proquest Distinguished Dissertation Awards each year.

We are pleased to announce that Alwyn Lim (Sociology Ph.D. 2012) has received this well-deserved recognition for his dissertation titled The Global Expansion of Corporate Social Responsibility - Emergence, Diffusion, and Reception of Global Corporate Governance Frameworks.  Professor Mark Mizruchi and Professor Kiyoteru Tsutsui were co-chairs of his dissertation committee.

Lim is currently assistant professor of sociology at the University of Southern California.

All members of the U-M community are invited to attend the awards ceremony on May 1, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall on the fourth floor of the Rackham Building.  This will be immediately followed by a reception.

Congratulations!
