2013 Detroit Speaker Series: Continuing the Dialogue on Detroit Future City Framework

Thursday, February 21, 2013
12:00 AM
Ann Arbor Room of University of Michigan Detroit Center 3663 Woodward Ave. Detroit, MI

We have the Detroit Future City Framework. Now, what might community members do with it? Speakers from The Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership, Grandmont-Rosedale Development Corp, and others weigh in on how they will choose to use (or not use) the plan to implement change in their communities.

From 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, February 21, in the UM Detroit Center, the 2013 Detroit Speaker Series will continue with a second installment of Dialogue on Detroit Future City Framework.

Connecting the Dots: How Should We Use (or not use) the Detroit Future City Framework?

Featuring:

Mark Covington, Georgia St. Community Collective

Tom Goddeerris, Grandmont Rosedale Development Corp.

Shea Howell, Oakland University, Boggs Center

Angela Reyes, Detroit Hispanic Development Corp.

SID Associate Director Craig Regester will moderate.

This panel of engaged Detroiters from across the city will discuss the Framework and how it connects (or doesn't) to their important community efforts - past and present - to rebuild neighborhoods. Since the Detroit Future City Framework was released to the general public on January 9, 2013, most Detroiters are only just beginning to digest this 350+ page volume of ideas and proposals for Detroit's short and long-term future. We want to hear their thoughts.

Free and open to the public - Light refreshments served - Free parking with validation
