How to Declare

To declare Psychology or BCN, a final letter grade must be posted in the following two prerequisite courses with at least a 2.0 GPA in the major:

  • Intro Psych Course (with a grade of C or better)
    • A score of 4 or 5 on the AP Psychology exam will earn credit for Psych 111 and fulfill this requirement
  • Stats 250: Introduction to Statistics and Data Analysis or Stats 280: Honors Introduction to Statistics and Data Analysis (with a grade of C- or better)
    • Stats 180 (AP Stats credit) will not fulfill this requirement. Students with Stats 180 credit may take Stats 250 at UM to fulfill this requirement (but will lose their Stats 180 credit), or take Stats 280 at UM (without losing Stats 180 credit)
