Scholarship Descriptions

 

Abrams Endowed Scholarship

Any PitE student is eligible to apply this toward Field Experience expenses. This fund was generously established by Jim and Wendy Abrams. Scholarship recipients will agree to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Abrams during their annual visit to campus.

 

Barry G. Rabe Fund Scholarship 

This award recognizes the Program in the Environment’s first permanent director. It is endowed with donations from PitE alumni, faculty associates, and staff. This award supports students completing an environmental policy internship or field program such as the Michigan in Washington semester.

Eligibility: Participation in a practical experience with an emphasis on environmental policy.

 

Environmental Experience Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was created by an anonymous donor to support PitE students with financial need so that they can pursue their practical experience. Award recipients are selected based on financial need as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid.

 

Field Experience Support Endowment

Any PitE student is eligible to apply for this scholarship, which was established by a pair of anonymous donors in order to support students doing their practical experience.

 

Goldring Family Foundation Field/International Experience Award

Any PitE student who is studying away from Ann Arbor for his/her practical experience is eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is endowed by the Goldring Family Foundation.

 

Robert M. Owen Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in 2010 to recognize Robert Owen’s contributions to the university. Robert Owen was PitE’s third director and is a professor of earth and environmental sciences, who for many years, taught at Camp Davis, the university’s Rocky Mountain Field Station. This scholarship supports students taking a science course at Camp Davis. Eligibility: Must be completing a science course at Camp Davis.

 

PitE Practical Experience Scholarship Fund

All PitE students who demonstrate financial need according to the University are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
