Speaker: Carl Frieden (Washington University, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics)

Professor Frieden is pioneer in the field of protein folding and misfolding. The long term goal of the protein folding studies in his lab is to understand the nature of the unfolded and intermediate structures on the unfolding and refolding pathways, including the role of proteins that assist folding (called chaperonins). His group is currently working on ApoE, amyloids and CsgA proteins. More details on his research can be found at his website: http://bmbweb.wustl.edu/cflab/.
