The Michigan Research Community (MRC) is the residential affiliate of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). MRC students participate in UROP research projects. In addition, MRC students live together, enroll in UC 104: "Introduction to Research", attend MRC specific Research Seminars and meet with in-house MRC Peer Advisors. At the end of the winter term, MRC has a Spring Research Symposium that is separate from UROP. Faculty sponsors submit progress reports and grades for MRC students in the same way as they do UROP students, but send them directly to MRC. MRC students complete research contracts and time sheets similar to those of UROP students, however, they turn those forms in directly to the MRC office. For questions or feedback about MRC or students in MRC, faculty should contact Tara Liss-Marino, Associate Director for MRC at 734.763.6658 or via email.
