AOSS faculty contribute to three papers in Science magazine

AOSS faculty recently co-authored three papers that appeared in a special issue for Science magazine titled, “Catching a comet.” The issue, published on January 23, contains the first published scientific results from Rosetta at comet 67P.Professors Tamas Gombosi and Mike Combi (MIRA full member), as well as Research Associate Professor K.C. Hansen and Research Fellow Andre Bieler, were co-authors of two reports in the issue. 

The reports are titled, “67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, a Jupiter family comet with a high D/H ratio” and “Time variability and heterogeneity in the coma of 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.” Professor Mike Combi also co-authored a report titled, “The organic-rich surface of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko as seen by VIRTIS/Rosetta.”
