In early June, some of our 2015-2016 student leaders reunited and traveled to Washington, D.C. for a fun week exploring the nation's capital. From visiting quaint neighborhoods like Georgetown and Old Alexandria, to exploring the historic monuments and Smithsonian museums on the National Mall, the group discovered more about our nation's history, and all the social justice initiatives that were rooted in DC. These MCSPers demonstrate the strong friendships that the learning community builds in our students. After a successful second year in the program, these MCSP students continue to shape and strengthen the communities that they are in--this trip rejuvenated students before they began their summer plans to achieve professional and educational goals. MCSP has a strong career presence in Washington this summer, as students are interning for the Smithsonian Institution, the Department of the Interior, the Atlantic Council, Delta Air Lines, and even the United States Congress.
